Comfort At Last

I've been getting a lot of questions recently about my room, and whether or not I'll be doing a room tour. Honestly, I do have to say that it is the hardest thing for me to do a room tour! There are still so many changes and alterations that I haven't gotten around to and watching other people do tours of their perfectly furnished, lovely, exquisite and organized pads is very discouraging. I'm sure you have that feeling. I always feel as if my room isn't enough - that there's something else I need to add. But -- I didn't want to stall forever so I kind of cave in and decided to do a pre-view.

So without further ado -- let's begin!

Here we are! This is the view that you get after directly walking through the door. The room's vibe is supposed to be airy and fresh -- and after it's been organized and cleaned, that's just what I feel. Being a true California girl, I opted for a nautical/beach theme. Keep in mind the area is small so I have to work with the space to the best of my ability.  Ginger the dog sitting by my reading nook. This chair is from Ikea and I absolutely adore sitting in this corner with a good book. Reading endlessly is one of my favorite pastimes.

I wish I could change the color of my walls. Currently they are painted two of my favorite colors - a creamy, inviting yellow and a pastel yellow. I love the colors however I feel like they kind of clash with the room's intended vibe. I wish I could change the purple wall to an airy blue.
I don't have a beach view because let's face it home prices right along the coast is pricey! Therefore I added a window decal of it, instead. I also chose three shadow box picture frames and added a few snapshots of beaches that I love. I chose some sand and sea shells to add into the frames, to give a whimsical look.
This is pretty cluttered for the time being -- and I am definitely trying to make some improvements. As of toady, I have rearranged the bookshelf and I'll be posting pictures of that soon. However, this is the whole wall without any alterations, as this was done almost two weeks ago.

All the furniture is white as I feel it's a lot more sleek and inviting than black. I decided to go for all of the decorations in a blue color, which definitely screams ocean.

The vanity! I need to organize this -- but since I've been getting requests, this is it! I love the jewelry holder which is from Urban Outfitters. I also opted to display my makeup brushes and hair bands because they add that "glamorous" touch.

I hope you all enjoyed!
xoxo,
Joyce
